It’s obvious that Mr Ong Beng Seng, who controls Singapore GP Pte Ltd, through Lusington Entertainments and shareholder Komoco Motors will stand to rake in the millions with sponsorships, events and of course ticketing revenue.

With an estimated cost of S$150 million and more than US$35 million of license fee payable to F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone a year the race would be very difficult to host without the Government’s support and the involvement of Singapore Tourist Promotion Board. However, does this makes economics sense?
